Features
What the controller actually does.
WiFi Sphere is the cloud controller for MikroTik guest Wi-Fi. This page lists capabilities that already ship in the portal — not a roadmap.
01
Splash editor
Design the guest pages people see before they go online. Add extra pages before Connect, then place buttons, QR codes, menus, and ratings. Backgrounds can be a colour, a photo, a GIF, or a looping video. Save a design as a template, or reuse pages from the splash library.
02
Guest sign-in
The hotspot sends guests to your splash. They walk through your pages and finish on Connect with the fields you turned on. Optional email verification sends a link; they must open it before they connect. Next visits use the same sign-up.
03
Reports and CSV
Pick a network and a date range. Reports use RADIUS accounting: sessions, new and returning guests, and splash activity such as page views, likes, links, and QR scans. Download CSV or PDF when your account allows it. Archived networks stay in Reports.
04
Mailing lists
Send report emails on a schedule. Choose the networks, the period (last week, month, or quarter), who receives them, and whether the list repeats. You can attach a PDF of the report for those dates, or send a sign-in link instead.
05
Daily data limit
Off by default. Turn it on to cap each guest’s upload plus download for that day. The allowance resets at 1:00 Europe/London. Other guests are not affected. You can let a guest who hits the cap buy extra data for today only, paid with that company’s Stripe or PayPal.
06
Child-safe DNS
Off by default. When it is on, guest DNS uses a child-safe filter and devices cannot bypass it with their own DNS. The splash page and portal.wifisphere.co.uk still work.
07
Hardware store
Order UK-stock MikroTik boards from the portal Store: hAP ax S, hAP ax Lite, and hAP Lite. Pay in the controller. Optional pre-configured boards arrive ready for WiFi Sphere. Delivery is 14 working days.
08
Router, Wi-Fi, and check-in
Create a network with the serial and RouterOS 6 or 7, paste one script, then wait for check-in. The controller deploys guest LAN, RADIUS, hotspot, and Wi-Fi names over API. Status shows the last report; while Status is open, CPU, RAM, memory, download, and upload refresh live.
